I feel like I’ve come to a bit of a standstill with posting… sorry about that. Being back in college means I have a lot less time for movies. However, I hope to have more posts up by the end of the week. I should have “2011: Part 2” posted by Saturday. That post, which I can’t wait to write, will look at 50/50 (directed by Jonathan Levine), Fright Night (Craig Gillespie), Horrible Bosses (Seth Gordon), Restless (Gus Van Sant) and Warrior (Gavin O’Connor). Three-fifths of that post is made possible because I’ve been lucky enough to go to some truly awesome preview screenings at the Museum of the Moving Image in the past few weeks. I saw Warrior on September 3, Restless on September 14 and 50/50 will be this Friday night at 7:30 pm (hence the upcoming post).
I’m hoping to see Tenant at 5:00 pm on Sunday (maybe also Chinatown earlier on Sunday at 2:00 pm, if time permits) as part of the Museum of Modern Art’s Roman Polanski retrospective. Also, I’ll be watching Sergei M. Eisenstein’s Strike (1925) tomorrow in my film history class. I didn’t love The Battleship Potemkin or Alexander Nevsky, but I hold out hope.
