Life of Pi: One of the Best Movies You’re Likely to See This Winter

I saw Life of Pi earlier tonight at the Museum of the Moving Image. Even though I never got around to reading the Yann Martel novel, this Ang Lee-directed film is, quite honestly, amazing. The acting and screenwriting are top-notch; the cinematography and music are gorgeous; the 3D is done well and usually pretty effective.

Unfortunately I could not stick around after the film for the Q&A with screenwriter David Magee. Still, I loved the film and highly recommend it. Laughter, tears, life-affirming emotion – the magnificent Life of Pi has it all. I expect (and hope for) lots of highly-deserved Oscar nominations.

  1. Glad to hear you liked this one. I will definitely be checking it out when it eventually opens over here. Trailer looked amazing visually. Was a little concerned that it may be a little sentimental. Definitely excited for it though.
