My Oscar Predictions

Difficult as it is to correctly predict Oscar nominees, I’ve tried and come up with some kind of list. Anything next to a bullet point is a possibility for a nomination, but I’m hoping that I’m right about the actual listed predictions. Some races, however, are particularly tight, like Best Actor. Other categories – like the other three acting categories – seem to have a few variables. Anyway, let me know if you agree with my choices! (Or if you think some of the possibilities are more likely than what I picked for the predictions.)

Best Picture (up to 10 nominees): Argo; Beasts of the Southern Wild; Django Unchained; Les Misérables; Life of Pi; Lincoln; The Master; Moonrise Kingdom; Silver Linings Playbook; Zero Dark Thirty

  • Helen Mirren (Hitchcock), Naomi Watts (The Impossible), Rachel Weisz (The Deep Blue Sea) [any of these three women could be exchanged with Cotillard/Riva/Wallis, though Mirren and Watts might have better chances than Weisz]
