AKA: “Can you believe it’s actually been nearly a year and a half since Moonrise Kingdom opened in theaters? And are you as pleased as I am that there’s already another Wes Anderson film?”
The trailer for Wes Anderson’s latest film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, was recently posted online and I can’t wait for the film’s US release date on March 7, 2014. I’m so eager that I need lots of exclamation marks: extreme excitement!!!!!!!!
Besides Hotel’s main man, Ralph Fiennes, the film also sports a who’s who of American and European stars from past, present and future: F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Bob Balaban, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Harvey Keitel, Jude Law, Florian Lukas, Karl Markovics, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, young up-and-comer Tony Revolori, Saoirse Ronan, Gabriel Rush (another youngster; he had a role as a scout in Moonrise Kingdom), Jason Schwartzman, Léa Seydoux, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson and Owen Wilson. Is there any other director who could possibly assemble such a magnificent cast?
Grin at the dialogue and the constant motion of the camera and the characters. Gaze in awe at the color present in the art direction, set design and costumes. Realize everything that fans have come to love and respect about Wes Anderson’s filmmaking style… and just try to tell me you’re not super excited for this new comedy.
